I am amacleod from lj.
I first heard about this dreamwidth thing when it was new. LJ people seemed to be switching. I didn't really use lj anymore but used openid to see posts here. I wondered if I should move myself but I didn't really know what this thing was. The front page said:
"Dreamwidth Studios is a home for creative artists of all types. Share your writing, your artwork, or your innermost thoughts."
wtf?
If they had said: "Dreamwidth is a livejournal fork with suckyness removed. Here is a comparison (link).", then I might have signed up years ago. Instead I thought, "hm, I don't really think of myself as a creative artist, nor do I require a new house and I can't be bothered reading that further."
LJ seems thoroughly dead now though so even if I'm not posting much I thought I would establish an identity here.
It turns out that OpenID accounts are not the same as normal accounts and they cannot be linked. Major fail.
